Two of the most popular massage styles — Thai massage and Swedish massage — offer distinctly different experiences. Understanding their differences can help you choose the right treatment.
Thai Massage originated in Thailand over 2,500 years ago. It's performed on a mat, typically without oils, and involves rhythmic pressing and stretching. It's excellent for improving flexibility, relieving joint stiffness, and increasing energy flow — often described as "passive yoga."
Swedish Massage is the most common Western technique. Using oil or lotion, the therapist applies long, smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial muscle layers. Ideal for general relaxation and improving circulation.
Choose Thai if you: want deeper stretching, have limited flexibility, prefer a more active session, or need energy restoration.
Choose Swedish if you: prefer a gentler approach, want pure relaxation, are new to massage, or have sensitive muscles.
Both are available at Angel Touch Spa.
